Wrong

I hate being wrong, but yes, I can be, and today I am so miffed because I was yet again wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. Scott told me something the other day that he thought was a little weird and in a conversation with a friend, I told her that thing. She was quite justifiably upset by the comment (not that I said it, but where we thought it might have originated from). Scott was shocked that I had passed the comment along and after getting mad at him for questioning me and then thinking (praying) about it, I realized I was wrong. I hate being wrong. But I know that I shouldn't have perpetuated the gossip and to all involved, I apologize and ask forgiveness from my Heavenly Father.

Why would I ask forgiveness for such a seemingly trivial little thing? Well, in the Bible, the book of Romans -chapter 1 talks about the sins of the human race and how God feels about it. One verse actually lists sins:

Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, fighting, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. (Romans 1:29 NLT)

I was shocked when I first read this list. Gossip is listed along with murder??? So, yeah, when I realized what I had done, I asked to be forgiven.

I glad that I live with the Grace of God in my life that for the many, many, many times I am wrong, I know that I can be forgiven when I ask!!

Letting Go

How can I fix it if you won't let me have it?

This was a question I asked my 13 month old daughter when her pretty little hair clip came out of her hair and broke. She loves pretties in her hair and when this one broke, she walked around with it in her hand fretting over it. I kept telling her to give it to me and I will fix it. She kept walking around with it in her hand babbling her baby talk about it. No matter how much I tried to talk her into it, she wouldn't hand it over. Just kept walking, distraught that her pretty wasn't in her hair anymore.

It is funny how over the past 6 years of children that I see God's work played out before my eyes. As if He is saying to me, "See, this is what I've been telling YOU all this time." How many times do we keep tight hold on our problems, our worries, our concerns, and not let God take them and FIX them? Funny how when you see it - and recognize it - right before your eyes, you realize how silly you have been acting all along.

Hadyn finally brought her pretty-pretty to me and I glued it back together and while that one was drying, put another pretty one in her hair. She was happy. And so was I.

Forgive me, Lord, for not letting go when I should and thank you for fixing or working on things that I have let go of.

Nothin' But Time

Okay, okay, yeah, I know. The tag line for my business is "when you just don't have the time" and here I'm saying "nothing but time". Doesn't make sense right? Well, it does, if you really think about it.

How many times do you say or have said, "I just don't have time for this"? Probably more than you can count. But the funny thing is, in reality, there is nothing but time. Time is in perpetual motion. It never stops (well, there was that one time in Joshua 10:12-13). So how can we say we don't have time for something? If we have something, it is time. It is fleeting, but we do have it.

What you DO with your time is the issue at hand. Do you spend it in worry? Do you fret over a problem for hours with no solution? Do you ignore the urgings and promptings in your soul to spend time in communion with your God because you have a deadline to meet? Do you overbook your children and stress out over keeping their schedule? How do you spend your time?

Think about time differently. Time is there. You do have time. Choose to spend it differently. Delegate your tasks if you can (send your website business to me!!), take a break to catch a breath and rethink your approach, say "no" when you are overworked, or overbooked. Take the time to devote to God and reap the goodness and rewards of living in His word daily.

Time is ticking.
